While Texas Republicans may think they’ve won this fight, S.B. 8 does not take effect until September, and we don’t believe in giving up on an issue so pivotal to the lives and well-being of over half of the Texas population.

We are still outraged, and we know we aren’t alone. The Protect the Right to Choose Rally gives Texans the opportunity to raise their voices in opposition to this bill that aims to effectively ban abortion by shortening the legal timeframe to be before the vast majority of people with uteruses even know they’re pregnant.

Not too long ago, we’ve seen the world that Abbott aims to take Texas back to; we know that banning abortion only serves to ban safe abortions. We rally fiercely to avoid sinking back into the circumstances prior to Roe v. Wade in which thousands dangerously tried to terminate pregnancies on their own, often leading to massive injury and even death.
